On February 17, 2010 the Lee County Sheriff's Office received a call for a well-being check at 8355 Penny Drive in North Fort Myers. When deputies arrived they were unable to locate the subject, later identified as Dawn Lofton, a white female with a date of birth of January 3, 1973. During the investigation it appeared the circumstances surrounding her disappearance were suspicious. On April 9, 2010, Dawn Lofton’s body was found near the intersection of Alabama Road and State Road 82. Her death was determined to be a homicide. The investigation continues.

On August 28, 2016, Fort Myers police responded to the 3700 block of Suntrust Drive in Fort Myers Estates just before 2:00 p.m. The victim and a second subject were sitting in a silver Kia Optima when two black male adults in a Kia SUV exited their vehicle, walked up on the victim and shot him several times. The victim was identified as 18-year-old Lawrence Lockley. The death was determined to be a homicide. The investigation continues.

#TheSearchContinues for the person or persons ultimately responsible for Nicholson’s death
Lee County deputies were initially called to Nicholson’s Squire Lane home around 6 a.m. on Sunday, October 29, 2017 in response to a residential fire. Shortly after arriving on scene, Nicholson’s body was found inside the home, the apparent victim of a homicide. More than seven months later, Cristian Dilan was arrested in connection with the incident and was charged with burglary, robbery and accomplice after the fact to second degree murder. Dilan still remains in custody for his role in the crime, while the person or persons ultimately responsible for Nicholson’s death have yet to be held accountable for their actions.
